Fillings for Dental Restoration
Fillings are the most common restorative procedure. When a tooth develops decay, we restore it with a durable filling to protect its function and strength. We use tooth-colored materials that blend naturally with your smile, creating a long-lasting and discreet restoration.
Good oral hygiene, healthy eating habits, and regular dental visits can help extend the life of your fillings and keep your smile healthy for years to come.
Crown Placement and Dental Restoration
Crowns are restorations that fully cover the visible surface of a tooth, restoring it to its original shape and size. They protect and strengthen tooth structure that cannot be repaired with fillings or other restorations. While there are several crown materials, porcelain (tooth-colored) crowns are the most popular because they closely resemble natural teeth, providing a durable and natural-looking smile. Crowns are an effective way to restore and protect damaged teeth for the long term.
At Macadam Dental, we use advanced digital technology to make your visit more convenient, efficient, and comfortable. In most cases, we can create and place your crown or veneer in a single visit—often in under two hours.
Using a specialized camera, Dr. Kevin captures precise digital images of the treatment area. These images are used to design a 3D model of your restoration, which is then milled from a ceramic block right here in our office.
With digital technology, there’s no need for messy impressions, temporary crowns, or multiple appointments—just a beautifully restored tooth in one visit.
CEREC Technology
At Macadam Dental, we use the most advanced practices to make your dental visit convenient, effective, and timely. Furthermore, within a single visit, we can create a crown or veneer using CEREC technology.
Your treatment will be more pleasant and faster than ever because the dental prosthesis is created digitally. In addition, Dr. Kevin scans your mouth using a camera to capture the treatment area. As a result, CEREC will effectively show the status of your teeth with exact detail and high-quality images.
Next, he will then create a 3D model of the dental restoration on the computer, and subsequently, the restoration is milled from a ceramic block in the office.
Importantly, patients no longer have to use a temporary crown while they wait for a laboratory to create one. In fact, in most cases, we can complete this process in under two hours.
Periodontal Disease Therapy
Periodontal (gum) disease is a common condition that many people don’t realize they have. In its early stages, it often has no obvious symptoms beyond gums that bleed easily, which is why it can be overlooked. However, this condition should not be ignored—if left untreated, it can lead to serious oral health problems.
Gum disease can result from a combination of factors, including heredity, smoking, and poor oral hygiene. Without early detection by a dental professional, it can progress to soft tissue recession and bone loss in the mouth and jaw. Over time, this bone loss can cause teeth to loosen or even fall out.
The good news is that regular dental visits greatly reduce the effects of gum disease through early detection, treatment, and preventive education. Our hygienists take time to explain what you can do at home to keep your teeth and gums healthy, empowering you to protect your smile for years to come.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy is recommended when the nerve inside a tooth has been irreversibly damaged by decay, fracture, or infection. This typically occurs when the tooth’s inner pulp becomes infected or inflamed due to deep decay, a crack or chip, or repeated dental procedures.
The procedure is highly specialized and requires advanced training and equipment. Our doctors have extensive training in endodontics and can perform most root canal treatments right here in our office. The process involves removing the infected or inflamed pulp, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the inside of the tooth, and then sealing it to prevent future infection.
In some cases, a tooth may require more complex treatment. When that’s the best course of action, we will refer you to a trusted endodontic specialist to ensure you receive the highest level of care.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are an effective way to replace one or more missing teeth in a row, restoring both function and appearance. Missing teeth can make eating and speaking more difficult, and this can impact your smile and even the shape of your face. A dental bridge helps bring back the form and function of your natural teeth.
A bridge works by using the healthy teeth on either side of the gap to support a custom-made prosthesis that looks and feels like natural teeth. Bridges are permanently cemented, durable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
Both dental bridges and dental implants can restore missing teeth, and each option has its own benefits. Bridges are generally more cost-effective, while implants offer a longer lasting solution. We’ll work with you to determine which option is best for your needs, budget, and long-term goals.
Dental Implant Restoration
Dental implants are a long-lasting solution for replacing missing teeth, and one of their greatest benefits is that they do not require altering the adjacent healthy teeth next to the gap.
At Macadam Dental, Dr. Jenny has specialized training in dental implant placement and can complete many implant cases in-office. For more complex situations, we collaborate with a highly skilled oral surgeon to ensure the best outcome. Once the implant is surgically placed and fully healed, our dentists restore it with a custom crown that looks, feels, and functions just like a natural tooth.
This team-based approach ensures a comfortable fit, a natural appearance, and lasting function for your restored smile.
