COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Advances in Cosmetic Dentistry

Recent advances in cosmetic dentistry provide multiple options for patients who wish to improve the appearance of their teeth.

Whether the goal is to improve the shape of broken teeth, replace older discolored fillings, or simply whiten teeth for a brighter smile, a consultation with one of our dentists can help determine which service is best to help reach your aesthetic goal.

Teeth Whitening

However, over-the-counter teeth whitening products are available. But many of these products can damage the tissue that surrounds your teeth. Therefore, for most patients, we recommend a whitening process that uses custom-made trays to hold the whitening gel.

These are made from impressions taken in our office to fit the specific shape of each patient’s teeth. As a result, the patient gets a close-fitting tray that can be safely filled with whitening gel. After several at-home treatments, most patients see amazing results!

Dental Bonding

Furthermore, dental bonding is a cost-effective procedure used for adjusting tooth alignment, filling tooth gaps, repairing damage by tooth decay, and improving the overall appearance of teeth.

This technique will leave teeth looking natural and, in many cases, with improved alignment. To make dental bonding safe and effective, the tooth surface is micro-etched by using both a gel and a primer agent. This way, the bond adheres properly and remains durable for years to come.

In addition, cosmetic dental bonding is a great option for tooth straightening and repairing damage left by decay. Every patient leaves wanting to show off their smile like never before!

Porcelain Veneers

Finally, porcelain veneers are a great way to improve discolored or misshapen teeth. The veneer process takes place in two appointments. First, Dr. Kevin Morich will anesthetize and shape the teeth receiving veneers prior to taking a detailed impression. Next, the impressions are processed so that our ceramist can fabricate a thin piece of porcelain that mimics a perfect, natural tooth.

The second appointment follows about two weeks later and consists of your dentist evaluating the new veneers for fit, color, and shape. After this has been determined, they are permanently cemented. Porcelain veneers will last through the years and leave you with a bright and beautiful smile.
